It came as a complete surprise to me that I was nominated for the Borletti-Buitoni Trust and I could hardly believe my good fortune when it was really awarded to me. So many fantastic things occurred to me that it would allow me to do and, at first, it took me a long time to decide which dream I should fulfil first. Merely to have this background feeling of a certain kind of security and to be able to concentrate on one’s own artistic development, free of worry, is a huge gift. It is simply wonderful to have the advice and warm-hearted support from the Trust.Anna Lucia Richter"
In summer 2015 Anna Lucia Richter was soloist in Mahler's Fourth Symphony not only at the opening of Lucerne Festival but also (this time with the London Symphony Orchestra) in London and Tokyo, all under Bernard Haitink. She has worked with the Orchestre de Paris in France and, in Germany, with Freiburg Baroque, hr Symphony Orchestra and MDR Symphony Orchestras, as well as Cologne’s Gürzenich-Orchester, with conductors such as Thomas Hengelbrock, Pablo Heras-Casado, Markus Stenz, Paavo and Kristjan Järvi, as well as Christoph Altstaedt. Her work on the opera stage includes Hänsel und Gretel (Sandmann/Taumann), Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina), Don Giovanni (Zerlina) and, most recently, Sasha Waltz's production of Monteverdi`s Orfeo (Eurydice/La Musica). Forthcoming operatic work includes Henze’s Elegy for Young Lovers in Vienna.
Anna Lucia Richter is passionately fond of lieder, with a wide repertoire. She has given recitals in London’s Wigmore Hall and at Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, and made her US debut in 2014 with Gerold Huber s at New York’s Park Avenue Armory. She returned to the US in 2015 touring both with Andràs Schiff and performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and San Francisco Symphony. Her first solo CD, with Michael Gees was released by Channel Classics in 2015 with Schumann's Liederkreis and improvisations on texts of Eichendorff [CC72687].
