Trio Isimsiz - Biography

Formed in 2009 at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, in 2015 the Trio Isimsiz won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Trondheim Competition, and in 2017 Second Prize at the Haydn Competition in Vienna. The Trio was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) between 2013 and 2018, and in February 2018 received a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship.

The Trio has performed widely in Europe, highlights including recitals at the Stavanger, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Aldeburgh and Peasmarsh Festivals, the Tivoli Concert Hall, Fundación Juan March in Madrid and Marianischer-Saal in Lucerne. Further afield the Trio has undertaken tours in China and Argentina.

Recent highlights include an all-Beethoven programme at the Théâtre des Abbesses in Paris, concerts at the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival and recitals at the Köln Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall, Saffron Hall and the Aldeburgh Festival. The Trio’s first CD was released on the Rubicon label in November 2017 to warm critical reception, reviewed as “an outstanding debut disc” by Gramophone.

The Trio Isimsiz, currently Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, has collaborated with Anthony Marwood, Krysztof Chorzelski, Richard Lester and Aleksander Madzar as well as attended IMS Prussia Cove working with Ferenc Rados.

Highlights in the 18/19 season include performances at Wigmore Hall, Snape Maltings, the Sage Gateshead, Wimbledon International Music Festival, Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge, Hannover Chamber Music Society, and Ettlingen Schlosskonzerte near Frankfurt. Further ahead, the Trio look forward to a performance at Beethovenwoche Bonn as well as a new BBT-supported commission by Francisco Coll.

It was a huge honour to be chosen for a Borletti-Buitoni award and to be welcomed into a family of such high calibre musicians. We are excited to embark upon the challenges we have set for ourselves and to realise the projects which would have otherwise not been possible.
