It came as a surprise and it stays surprising even now! To be in the BBT family means to be surrounded by people that actually care about you as a musician and respect your choices, people that inspire you and help you realize your dream projects. You just need to stay true to yourself and be creative. I can only express my gratitude for all the support, advice and care that BBT has given me, it’s very rare to experience anything like this and I am extremely thankful for being able to say – I am a BBT winner!
One of two Georgian pianists to receive a 2010 BBT award, Nino has made her home in the Netherlands where she performs regularly and also teaches and is a festival director. Praised for her skilled musical storytelling and meditative intelligence in performance, her playing is imbued with lightness, delicacy and clarity. She is welcomed throughout Europe and Asia in orchestral, recital and chamber music settings, both live and recorded.
Nino’s BBT Award realised her dream of not only recording piano works by Liszt, Widmung (Orchid Classics), but also commissioning a “charming and atmospheric” (International Record Review) short film as a promotional accompaniment – an ethereal animation of Gretchen am Spinnrade realised by artist and filmmaker Graham Johnston. BBT also brought Nino to London for a new photoshoot, showcase recital and concerto performance, and provided assistance and funds for a new website and European PR.
Nino was supported with a BBT Award between 2010 and 2011.
