I am very much honoured to be chosen for the BBT Award. This really important award gives me support for focusing on the important things in my work. The trust gave to me the opportunity to record a demo CD at Wigmore Hall, which has been an indescribable experience. Also, getting some splendid pictures has been very important. I want to thank you, all the members of the BBT team so much for the confidence placed in me. This kind of support makes me feel truly encouraged to develop and continue in my work.
In his early career, Berlin-born violinist Jermolaj Albiker was mentored by several of Germany’s foremost instrumentalists including Antje Weithaas and Christian Tetzlaff and guested with leading orchestras throughout Europe as well as collaborating with many renowned chamber musicians and ensembles. He found his home as a member of the SWR Symphony Orchestra in 2008, becoming concertmaster in 2016.
At the start of his career BBT was able to help with many practical and necessary expenses including conservatoire fees, survival money while studying, language course fees, publicity photographs, an instrument case and the recording of a demo CD. Jermolaj also attended the Verbier Festival Academy as part of BBT’s support of its Chamber Music Programme from 2006 to 2009.
Jermolaj was supported with a BBT Award between 2007 and 2009.
