Ukrainian pianist, Roman Fediurko is fast building an international career as a sought-after chamber musician and recitalist throughout Europe and beyond. Described as a musician “wholly devoted to the music, displaying no ego at all, but pure musicality” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), he showed exceptional talent at a young age and was under the tutelage of Galina Kotsyuba from the age of five until 17, when he moved on to study with Milana Chernyavska at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria.
Roman’s BBT Fellowship joins a portfolio of prizes including the gold medal and five special prizes at the prestigious Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition in 2023 at just 18 years old, a landmark success that immediately opened the doors to an international career. In 2026 he took first prize at Japan’s Takamatsu International Piano Competition and second prize at the UK’s Hastings International Piano Competition.
Roman is passionately interested in unknown and neglected repertoire and frequently includes works by Ukrainian classical composers in his programmes. He has recorded two solo albums for the Romantic Piano series on Naxos featuring works by Kullak and Litolff, to be released in 2026/27 in cooperation with the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where he is also a scholar.
