For Nominators: Who Should I Propose For An Award?

The Trust considers candidates in their early twenties to early thirties and expects them to have made some significant headway with their careers. Nominators may propose instrumentalists, singers, or chamber groups. They may already have an agent representing them.

In addition to quality of performance, the Trust will be looking for artists with "something to say", who preferably have some chamber music experience. The selected musicians will be expected to enter into dialogue with the Trust as to how they feel they can most effectively be supported.

Nominators should therefore consider the kind of person or ensemble that will fit well with the Trust's ethos and will benefit most from the award.

Conductors can only be nominated by an European Broadcasting Union (EBU) member orchestra via a scheme that is to be established between BBT and the EBU in order to support any conductors that receive awards.
