Hyunah YuHyunah Yu recently made her operatic debut in the leading role of Peter Sellars’ Zaide in Vienna: “… with her floating, high, silvery voice - as Zaide, the only woman and the shining light in this seraglio”* UK audiences will be able to see this remarkable soprano in a semi-staged version on 6 July. (BBT has committed further funds to support an EMI Debut Disc which will be released in January 2007.) |

Emma BellHer two BBT-funded CDs released last year on the Linn record label were critically acclaimed and coincided with her ENO and Royal Opera debuts. Thoroughly at home in the Mozart repertoire, she appears with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields conducted by David Stern on 13 July singing the composer’s ‘concerto for voice’ Exultate Jubilate. |
